First established in 1869, the Shearers’ Quarters was home to Mount William Station’s extended family of shearers and station workers. A cozy and welcoming space that was built to be shared – for stories to be told whilst enjoying a hearty meal – and a place that provided a peaceful sanctuary after a long day spent in the woolshed producing the wool that would be exported to the Old World.
The spirit of this unique accommodation experience remains to this day – with the original features preserved, complemented by a stylish simplicity and modern-day amenities for you to enjoy. The Shearers’ Quarters provides the backdrop for new generations of families and groups of friends to start their own conversations, share special moments, and create new memories.
Guests of the Shearers’ Quarters enjoy access to our private lake – Lake Anne – where fish are waiting to be caught and wetland wildlife and bird populations can be discovered. Located just across the paddock from your accommodation, Lake Anne was named after our beautiful mum – one of four sisters that lived on Mount William Station during the previous generation.
