Originally home to Mount William Station shearers and station workers, the Shearers’ Quarters is the perfect place for individuals, couples, and groups to embrace the relaxed countryside atmosphere and rest after a day of adventures in the Grampians. With eight private bedrooms and shared bathrooms and common areas, the Shearers’ Quarters stays true to its original layout but has been refreshed with modern amenities to provide guests with a rustic farmstay experience.

*When not booking the Shearers’ Quarters exclusively, the common areas are shared with other guests, providing an unique experience for new connections to be formed.

First established in 1869, the Shearers’ Quarters was home to Mount William Station’s extended family of shearers and station workers. A cosy and welcoming space that was built to be shared – for stories to be told whilst enjoying a hearty meal – and a place that provided a peaceful sanctuary after a long day spent in the woolshed producing the wool that would be exported to the Old World.

Guests of the Shearers’ Quarters enjoy access to our private lake – Lake Anne – where fish are waiting to be caught and wetland wildlife and bird populations can be discovered. Located just across the paddock from your accommodation, Lake Anne was named after our beautiful mum – one of four sisters that lived on Mount William Station during the previous generation.
