Originally founded in the 1870s, and rebuilt in 1920 after fire destroyed part of the original Homestead, an invitation to stay at Mount William Station was highly sought after. Positioned at the foothills of the majestic Grampians National Park, the Homestead welcomed dignitaries and hosted many social gatherings becoming a spectacular backdrop to many great stories in Victoria’s rich pastoral history.
Mount William Station now invites guests to take a step back in time. The Homestead’s beautiful old-world charm and unique traditions are retained but complimented with a luxuriously modern upgrade. This very special place that has provided a peaceful sanctuary to generations of family members for over a century, and now provides a spectacular backdrop for unparalelled romantic getaways and memorable family get togethers
The history of our family’s rich farming heritage remains on show with the property as it continues to operate as a working stud and prime lambing farm – running Charolais cattle and sheep. Bookshelves are filled with old farm journals from Stations afar, and the family’s private book collection is still on display.

Mount William revives the spirit, energises the soul through the surrounding nature, and nourishes the body with local, natural produce. Since 1842, it has welcomed family and friends to escape the city to reset, and in this next chapter, is now open for all to enjoy.
