“Historic Australian farming experience where new stories are waiting to be written”

First established in 1869, the Shearers Quarters was home to Mount William Station’s extended family of shearers and station workers.  A cosy and welcoming space that was built to be shared – for stories to be told whilst enjoying a hearty meal - and a place that provided a peaceful sanctuary after a long day spent in the woolshed producing the wool that would be exported to the Old World.

The spirit of this unique accommodation experience remains to this day - with the original features preserved, complemented by a stylish simplicity and modern-day amenities for you to enjoy.  The Shearers Quarters provides the backdrop for new generations of families and groups of friends to start their own conversations, for special moments in time to be shared and new memories created.

Guests of the Shearers Quarters enjoy access to our private lake - Lake Anne – where fish are waiting to be caught and wetland wildlife and bird populations can be discovered. Located just across the paddock from your accommodation, Lake Anne was named after our beautiful mum - one of four sisters that lived on Mount William Station during the previous generation.

The history of our family’s rich farming heritage remains on show with sheep roaming the paddocks that surround the Shearers Quarters, and the bluestone ‘working’ woolshed a beauty to behold – full of historic relics and treasures.

You have the option of being fully self-contained during your time with us or enquire about dining at the homestead for two and three-course dinner experiences or our cafe style cooked breakfast and barista coffee. BBQ packs can be pre-ordered ahead of time to relieve the hassle of shopping and self-cooked at the Shearers Quarters. The packs showcase seasonal produce grown on our farm, and are complemented by a selection of produce that is sourced from the abundance of local food and wine artisans that can be found on our doorstep. Please book BBQ packs once accommodation is confirmed.

Stunning Property

“Awesome setting, stunning property and very accommodating rooms for a great weekend away with friends. Being so close to the Grampians, we did a couple of day trips into the National Park, coming back in the evening to light the fires and enjoy a cooked meal in the common area.
